CONTRIBUTED $80 to help sponsor 7th-grade honor student Michael Kohere on a People to People Student Ambassador Program to Australia. The objective of the program is to promote international understanding while building leadership skills among America's youth. The 20-day experience includes meetings with government officials, interaction with other students his age, and educational and cultural activities. Michael attends Mount Olive Middle School.

COLLECTED 2 BAGS OF FOOD for Cobblestone Residential Health Care Facility in Budd Lake, 4 BAGS OF CLOTHING for The Salvation Army, and A SMALL MOUNTAIN OF TOYS for the Mt Olive Child Care & Learning Center at the Santa House in December, 2006. Some items were also collected at Optimal Family Chiropractic in Flanders. In addition, before Christmas, Kiwanian Dr Brenda Rooney of Optimal Family Chiropractic donated 16 Wal-Mart gift cards to the Morris County Youth Shelter, with one card going as a gift to each of the youths in the shelter at the time. She also presented a gift certificate for the youths to use that was donated to us by Branda's Italian Grill.

DONATED $495.00 to Mount Olive Public Schools to help save the lives of children by replacing 5 expiring infant/child defibrillator electrodes. The funds were raised at an All-You-Can-Eat Filet Mignon Dinner in October. December 18, 2006.

HELPED PRESENT A $5,000.00 DONATION to the Mt Olive Child Care & Learning Center on behalf of its Advisory Council at The Santa House. The funds were raised at an Annual Comedy Night in June and an Annual Golf Outing in September, and will go towards Phase II of the Center's playground at its new location at 150 Wolfe Road in Budd Lake. Phase I included Project K.O.A.L.A. (Kiwanis Outdoor Active Learning Area), made possible by a $5,000 grant from Kiwanis International Foundation. December 9, 2006.

HELPED RE-OPEN GEORGE'S. Santa Claus led State and local elected officials and the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce in a hot chocolate toast for the Grand Re-Opening of George's. The Jolly One is celebrating more than two decades that the newly-renovated George's has been permitting community service organizations to operate The Santa House, including 18 years under the current ownership of Praful Patel alone. 3RD ANNUAL BREAKFAST WITH SANTA AND MRS CLAUS. Hosted nearly 200 children and adults at the Budd Lake Fire House. Thanks to a major sponsorship from the new Mount Olive PNC Bank, children left not only with full bellies, but also with armfulls of gifts from Santa. November 26, 2006.
DONATED $720.00 with the Mount Olive Lions Club to Flanders Fire & First Aid at a Town Council meeting to help save the lives of children by purchasing infant/child kits for 8 defibrillators. The funds were raised by dunking current and former elected officials in a dunk tank at Mount Olive Community Day on July 22, 2006. October 24, 2006.
RECOGNIZED THREE OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUALS for their service to the community. Portions of the event's proceeds will be donated in honor of each recognized individual to a cause selected by that individual. In addition to receiving framed certificates from the Kiwanis Club, each honoree also received special citations from Town Council, presented by former Councilman David Scapicchio, Assemblywoman Allison Littell McHose, presented by former Councilman Earl Spino, and Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen, presented by former Councilwoman Barbara Swasey. The honorees were also personally congratulated by Assemblyman Guy Gregg, former State Senator John Dorsey, former Assemblyman Dick Kamin, Schools Superintendent Rosalie Lamonte, and other dignitaries. President Barbara Melveger of the Mt Olive Child Care & Learning Center led those in attendance in singing Happy Birthday to Honoree Steve Rattner, a member of the Center's Board of Trustees.
